Trans fluid should be periodically exchanged, not flushed. It is not recommended by any manufacturer to use a machine that cycles fluid in and out through the cooler lines. Where trans issues following any service happens, is when the service has already been severely neglected, and the wear particles suspended in the fluid (primarily clutch and band material) what is keeping the transmission working. If you just change the transmission fluid, it removes those particles, and the friction characteristics within the machine change. This won't happen if the transmission is not neglected, because there won't be a buildup of this garbage. I'm not saying you need to go crazy and change it every 30,000 mi, but lifetime transmission fluid is an idiotic concept, and is not based in reality. Lifetime becomes until the unit dies from lack of maintenance. It is not too much to ask to change (not flush) the transmission fluid (and filter if it's serviceable) every 60,000 mi. Oil flushes are in general a really bad idea. The only time you should consider doing this is when there is a major oil circulation related issue, the next step is an engine rebuild or replacement, and the vehicle isn't worth that. The flush should be part of a more complete service, which will include removing the oil pan and cleaning it and the oil pickup, as well as inspection for metal particles in the oil. If there are already metal particles being produced, it's already game over, you are on borrowed time, and you should just junk the car if you aren't willing to fix it right. Do a basic oil flush and switch to a heavier oil, but this is really just putting a band aid on a broken arm. You might get another 20,000 miles out of it if you're lucky, but start stacking your pennies for a new car.

Im from LA CA and I just purchased a bmw that I preordered and when I was already at dealership I was told that in order for me to take advantage of the dealership and the military discount I had to finace thru them. I was never told that before I told them I wanted to use my navy federal. Anyway they said that there were no prepaid pay off penalties if I wanted to pay off and refinance but that I needed to keep financing with bmw for 6 months otherwise I would be loosing the military discount Is this even true if there are no penalties I could just pay off and dealership can not charge me back the military discount that is given by bmw usa not the dealership? And if I don’t want to pay any penalties if there would be any how can I avoid those if I want to just pay it off. I wait for you advise Thank you

I owned a Kia Optima hybrid 2012 (30k miles), Kia soul 2014 (12k miles) and Kia Optima lx 2017 (brand new) . Every last one of them had major engine issues within 2-3yrs. Every last one of them leaked oil after a while and the engine eventually locked, even thought we were doing maintenance on them every 4k miles which is a lot of maintenance. Quoted $8k for each engine fix 🤯. I will never buy a Kia again and I will never recommend them!!!!!!!!

The real scam as far as dealer service (was a dealer tech for 3 years) is the pay, or lack there of. And lack of benefits. As for the services, (from a full technician at an independent shop now) Yes, you do need to do coolant exchanges, transmission exchanges, power steering fluid (if serviceable) note that I’m not stating to flush them.
